Located between Perpignan and Font-Romeu, Mosset commune is one of the largest in the department of Pyrenees-Orientales, with a vast area of 7120 hectares, with a climb of nearly 2,000 m.
With a remarkable natural, agricultural and forest heritage, Mosset has an exceptional fauna and flora biodiversity, which has earned it a classification under the European "Habitat-Natura 2000" directive.
In addition, Mosset is one of the 25 major cultural sites of the Pyrénées-Orientales, grouped together within the "Catalan Cultural Earth Network", the Art and History Country "Tet Valley" and the Regional Natural Park of the Catalan Pyrenees..
To visit, the Perfume Tower of Mosset, interactive museum, educational and fun with fragrance diffusers, which offers you to discover our environment differently by the five senses and more particularly the smell around its exhibition "perfumes of trades in countries Catalan".
In addition to visiting, with the fragrant garden, learn what gardening means. The olfactory walk will introduce you to aromatic plants (from the most common to the most unrecognized), perfume plants and all those flowers with poetic fragrances. Associated with the Perfume Tower, which offers a scientific and cultural discovery, the fragrant garden completes this journey into the world of scents
There are also some monuments of interest to enjoy nearby, such as the 17th century Church of Saint-Julien and Sainte-Baselisse; a small 13th century chapel built in the roman style; and the 13th century watchtower called the Mascarda Tower which once kept watch over the valley.
The 'Tour des Parfums' is  now a small museum where you will be introduced to the scents of the local perfumes and Mosset tourist office is situated in the tower.
As you walk around you will see that some of the buildings have round structures bulging out of their upper stories: these are bread ovens and this region is the only one where I have seen bread ovens built in this way.
Mosset is now part of a protected nature reserve, and a walk through the surrounding countryside is highly recommended, with many opportunities to see unusual wildflowers and to catch glimpses of the wildlife as it scurries away. Numerous marked trails are available - we followed a pleasant trail through the forest that took less than two hours.
The chapel at Corbiac is a scenic 12th century chapel and monastery two kilometres downstream from Mosset (now in private ownership).
The village is also a little way north-west of the village of Eus, which (as with Mosset) is classified as a 'most beautiful village of France'.
